That's why we're Champions!That's why we're Champions! The Chelsea Football FanCast #128

The boys discuss the 2-0 defeat of a typically attritional Stoke, applaud some top performances by Ashley Cole, Florent Malouda, Mikel, John Terry and Alex, and ponder the forthcoming challenges of the Carling Cup and Champions League.

No 6-0 this week, so we’ll just have to be satisfied with 32 league goals without reply in our last 7 games. The salient point being no goals conceded…seven clean sheets!

As always it was a battle against Stoke, but even with Super Frank missing a penalty and then limping off, we ran out comfortable winners to leave us the only unbeaten team in the league with the small matter of a plus 14 goal difference. That’s why we’re champions!!

We're on a roll!Double Six - we're on a roll again! The Chelsea Football FanCast #127

Chidge and the boys are glad to see six of the best two games running. Carlo might be underplaying it, but the boys on the FanCast are rightly chuffed with Chelsea’s spanking start to the season – and they still haven’t broken sweat yet!!

The FanCast crew discuss Chelsea’s win over Wigan on the show, as well as awarding our awards for the Man of the Match; Chant of the Match; Celery and Guinness moments, with Mikel and Drogba, JT and Brana and Double Double all featuring prominently.

In the unenviable task of finding a song we haven’t already sung before on “We’re out to show the World the Way to sing”, Lester Thorpe (aka “And Lester”) has come to the rescue by suggesting a veritable old Shed End classic from the very old days.

The Return of Real Football!

So the time is nearly upon us: the return of real football. Part time football fans discard their England shirts, their media spoon-fed opinions on tactics and manufactured passion for another two years at least, the plastic England flags start to disappear from white vans and normal service is resumed. Meanwhile the rest of us are left with a spherical void in our lives for what feels like months. Of course it is only a matter of weeks, but it is as unbearable and mind-numbing as a Mel Gibson marathon on Sky Movies, with Mad Max replaced with a director’s commentary of What Women Want. We’re briefly teased by the prospect of pre-season friendlies and even the Community Shield game, but these merely serve as an entre (and not a particularly appetising one at that): something to fill the time and satisfy the hunger, if not the tastebuds. We watch them hoping for a glimpse of things to come and a chance to see some new players coming through, but the main satisfaction comes from ensuring that the squad stays free of injuries and that none of them have been following the Sol Campbell diet over the summer months. Thankfully the boys seem to have looked after themselves this year, although Yossi Benayoun looks like he could probably do with a cheeseburger or two.

Chelsea Football FanCast

The Chelsea Football FanCast is a weekly internet radio show dedicated to the Chels. The show is the real deal with real opinions and banter from lifelong fans that go to the games and live in the manor!

Presented by Chelsea nut David 'Stamford Chidge' Chidgey, the show discusses the latest Chelsea issues from the fans perspective. Chidge is usually joined by Dr Mart, Chel Tel, the Blues Brothers (Stu and Chris), and Ross - the mates he goes to the games with to carry on the pub banter on the podcast.

In addition, when they can be begged, borrowed or stolen, some of the Football Pundits, Journalists, ex-Players and legends, Chelsea authors and Celebs and downright nutters Chidge knows make guest appearances on the show.

Expect banter, biased opinion, and downright nonsense all in the Blue cause. The show is the best, most authentic and totally independent Chelsea podcast on the planet. If you don’t believe us check out what our listeners have to say:

"If you are a die hard supporter, a CFC for life, or even if you're a new fan of the team or the game stop here and listen to these chaps give it straight. They are honest supporters who give you the latest in news around the Bridge. Learn some of our songs and fly the blue flag high. I must admit I found this about two months ago and wish it was a daily podcast sometimes. Up the Blues. Up this podcast. Enjoy."  Felix Verran

"Been listening to the show for about 6 months now. Never fails to cheer me up during the week. Beer, banter and Chelsea bias. Great lads who do a great show representing a great team. If you love the Chels and want to have a laugh listening to pre/post match discussions of games by real fans then this is the perfect podcast. Love it!!!" Ashes2Ashes

"Being from the US it's hard to find good support for Chelsea. This is an excellent podcast. The guys are serious supporters. Tales from the Shed is great. Keep it up!" RU Sam

"Why listen to Gigi Salmon when you can get real opinions from Chidge, Mart , Chel Tel and the rest of the lads? A must for all Blues fans young and old."  Torres is Carragher's bit on the side

"This podcast and website are the best thing to happen to me as a Chelsea fan.The podcast, articles and the message board I just love it. Thank You guys for volunteering your time to connect us across the pond to Stamford Bridge" J Kane

"Great podcast guys, I look forward to hearing your thoughts on Chelsea after every game, keep it up!"  Lev Maximovsky

"The Chelsea football fancast is a testament to the things that loyal supporters want. Totally free of charge, completely biased and completely blue. Being a young-ish blue these guys have given me the opportunity to meet new people and make lots of new Chelsea mates, so I don't have to go alone on match days like I used to, which sums up the great camaraderie between Chels fans." Stuart Thomas

"Guys, great podcasts! Ross's "chink in the defence" remark was probably the funniest thing i've heard in a while...i was in the dining hall eating lunch and nearly spit my water out all over some people walking by. i'm sure i speak for all chelsea fans who need an emotional lift when i say ...job well done to you all. keep up the good work and up the chels! Oh yes..."  Benjamin Faust
